PROFESSIONALISM IN NEUROFEEDBACK
When selecting a neurofeedback provider, you should be aware that there is a national credential which all neurofeedback providers should possess. This credential is Certification in EEG Biofeedback (also called neurofeedback) by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. ALL PROVIDERS AT GREENLIGHT LEARNING CENTERS HAVE BCIA CERTIFICATION IN EEG BIOFEEDBACK. This credential has been offered since 1996. According to the BCIA (Biofeedback Certification Institute of America), "To be viable as a professional service, standards of professional competence and practice must be defined and measured. BCIA has taken on this task. Certification in EEG Biofeedback demonstrates a provider's competence in the practice of EEG biofeedback techniques. It also indicates the individual has undergone continuous peer review of ethical conduct and has continued to acquire knowledge of recent developments in the field. BCIA certification is the mark of distinction for providers of EEG Biofeedback services. It recognizes that a health care provider has demonstrated a high level of competence in the use of EEG biofeedback and self-regulation treatment strategies." Green Light Learning Centers highly recommends that when you choose a biofeedback/neurofeedback professional, please choose a provider who is certified, has current certification, has a good background in neurology and has a least two full years of full-time, independent practice in the field of neurofeedback/EEG biofeedback.
